"I guess I will have to find another source of joy now"

Former South African pacer Dale Steyn has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket with immediate effect. With the number of injuries he has had in the past two years coupled with the pandemic times, this decision was always on the cards. Announcing his decision to retire from cricket on Tuesday (Aug 31), Steyn stated "bittersweet but grateful".

For the record, Steyn is the highest wicket-taker for South Africa in Tests (439) and T20Is (64). Moreover, he had held the no. 1 position in the Bowling rankings in Tests from July 2009 to December 2013 and also reclaimed the same in 2014! He is undoubtedly one of the greats of the game. This is how the cricketing fraternity has responded after announcing his retirement.
