Ire vs Zim 2021: Ireland win T20I series with 1 match to go!

Ireland won the fourth T20I against Ireland by a margin of 64 runs to take an unassailable lead of 3-1 in this 5-match series. Having lost the first T20I, Ireland made a great comeback registering three wins on the trot to win the series!

After being sent into bat first, Ireland rode on the performances from their top order. Kevin O'Brien (47), Paul Stirling (39), Andy Balbirnie (36) all contributed with the bat as they finished with 174/4 on the board in the 20 overs. Wellington Masakadza bagged 2 wickets while Luke Jongwe and Richard Ngarava picked up a wicket each.

In reply, Zimbabwe fumbled with the bat and never really looked in the game! They kept losing wickets at regular intervals and eventually scored just 110/9 in 20 overs losing the match by a big margin of 64 runs. The unbeaten 24*-run stand for the 10th wicket between Jongwe and Ngarava is their best in this match. This stat alone sums up the struggles with the bat for Zimbabwe in this innings!

Ireland's Mark Adair was the pick of bowlers with bowling figures of 4/23 from his 4 overs. And he was rightly adjudged as the Player of the Match in this match. Ireland are currently leading the 5-match T20I series by 3-1 with one match to go. The fifth and final T20I series will be played on Saturday (Sept 04).

Brief Scores: Ireland - 174/4 in 20 overs (Kevin O'Brien - 47, Wellington Masakadza - 2/22) defeated Zimbabwe - 110/9 in 20 overs (Craig Ervine - 28, Luke Jongwe - 4/23) by a margin of 64 runs
