England have announced their squad for the upcoming 3-match Test series in West Indies! In what comes as a huge surprise, they have dropped both their senior bowlers, who both have over 500 Test wickets, from their Test squad. For the record, England dropped 8 players from their Test squad which recently featured in Australia in the 5-match Ashes series which they lost by 0-4.

The interim selection panel was headed by Andrew Strauss, Paul Collingwood, James Taylor who had named their squad for the Windies Test series. According to Strauss, this is not the end of the road for Anderson and Broad in Tests. At this juncture, Anderson is currently with 640 Test wickets while Broad have 537 wickets.
Young uncapped pace bowlers Saqib Mahmood and Matthew Fisher have been included in the Test squad. England have also dropped Rory Burns and Haseeb Hameed for this tour. Surprisingly, Dawid Malan who was good with the bat in the Ashes has also been dropped from the squad! Jos Buttler who also had a quiet Ashes with the bat has also been dropped.
On the other hand, head coach Chris Silverwood was sacked a week earlier after the team's poor performance in Australia. Paul Collingwood was named interim coach for the Test team that is traveling to West Indies for the Test series.
The 3-match Test series will be played from March 08 with the games played in Antigua, Barbados, Grenada in the same order. As far as the head-to-head record is considered, West Indies won 58 and England won 51 of the total 160 Test matches played between these two teams thus far. The other 51 matches were drawn.
