India may have selected their second-string side for the Ireland tour owing to other International commitments! But this side is still a tough one to beat! Thanks to heroics with the bat by Deepak Hooda (47* off 29), Ishan Kishan (26 off 11), Hardik Pandya (24 off 12), India cruised to victory in the first T20I against Ireland by a margin of 7 wickets!

It was a delayed start with rain making an uninvited appearance at the start and as a result, the match has been reduced to 12-overs aside. Indian captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and put the home team into bat first. Courtesy of Harry Tector's unbeaten 33-ball 66, Ireland made 108/4 in 12 overs. There was no other crucial contribution in their innings!
Umran Malik made his T20I debut for India having had a great IPL season. Even though he failed to make things happen with the only one over he bowled this match surely won't be the last one for him on this tour! Yuzvendra Chahal bowled economically conceding just 11 runs from his 3 overs picking up a wicket! Bhuvi was goo too registering 1/16 from his 3 overs.
Young Indian top-order made light work of the chase helping India get to the target with 7 wickets in hand and 16 balls to spare in their innings! Chahal has been adjudged as the 'Player of the Match' for his brilliant bowling spell. The second and final T20I of this 2-match series will be played at the same venue (Malahide) on Tuesday (June 28).
