Hong Kong defeated the United Arab Emirates in a do or die match in the Qualifiers to get into the group stages of the Asia Cup 2022 tournament. They won all three out of the three in the qualifying round and are now placed in Group A alongside India and Pakistan.

#1: Hong Kong defeated Singapore by 8 runs
Hong Kong scored 148 runs losing 9 wickets in 20 overs after being sent into bat first. In reply, Singapore only managed to score 140 runs losing 7 wickets in 20 overs. Ehsan Khan was the pick of Hong Kong players in this match with a 3-wicket haul (3-20) from his 4 overs.
#2: Hong Kong defeated Kuwait by 8 wickets
Kuwait were sent into bat first by Hong Kong and scored 151 runs losing 9 wickets from 20 overs. Edson Silva at no. 8 scored a superb half-century (56 off 30 balls) to help get to this total. In reply, Hong Kong's top 3 did all the work as they chased down the target with 8 wickets in hand and 2.2 overs to spare. Babar Hayat (53*) and Nizakat Khan (50) scored half-centuries while Yasim Murtaza scored 46 runs.
#3. Hong Kong defeated the United Arab Emirates by 8 wickets
UAE scored 147 runs before getting bowled out in 19.3 overs. Captain Chundangopayil Rizwan (49) and Zawar Farid (41) contributed with scores in the 40s each. Hong Kong's Ehsan Khan bagged a 4-wicket haul. During the run-chase, the top 3 did all the work with that bat again as Hong Kong registered an 8-wicket victory.
Ehsan Khan has been the top contributor for them in the Qualifiers round with 9 wickets from 3 matches. He averaged just 9.00 with the ball and has a good economy rate of 6.75 runs per over. He bagged a 4-wicket haul, 3-wicket haul, and a 2-wicket haul in the three games he played. He is also the top wicket-taker among all the teams in the Qualifying round.
On the other hand, Hong Kong opener Yasim Murtaza was the leading run-scorer in these 3 games with 130 runs. He scored a half-century and a score in the 40s in the qualifying round. Hong Kong's Babar Hayat is at the third position on this list with 97 runs.
