Toss Update: Australia won the toss and opted to bat first.
Having opted to bat first, Australia scored 280 runs on the board losing 8 wickets in 50 overs. Steven Smith with his innings of 94 runs held it together as they posted a competitive total on the board! Marnus Labuschagne (58 runs) and Mitchell Marsh (50) also stepped up with half-centuries each!
Adil Rashid was the star of England's bowling unit with figures of 3-57 from his 10 overs. At one stage, the wrist-spinner was on a hat-trick as he dismissed Labushagne and Alex Carey of consecutive deliveries in the 28th over. Chris Woakes (2-42), David Willey (2-44), and Moeen Ali (1-24) also contributed with the ball.
England, chasing 281 runs to win, scored just 208 runs before getting bowled out in 38.5 overs. Sam Billings (71) and James Vince (60) scored half-centuries each as the rest of their batting unit failed to put up a notable contribution! Three of their batters got out for a Duck which shows their struggle with the bat in this innings!
In fact, Mitchell Starc started things off in style dismissing both Jason Roy and Dawid Malan for a Duck each in the very first over of the chase. Adam Zampa (4-45) and Josh Hazlewood (2-33) were also brilliant with the ball as the Australians bowled out England for just 208 runs taking a big win including the series!
