Chasing a massive target, Knight Riders came so close but they couldn’t finish off the game in the end! Nitish Rana (58 off 35), Eoin Morgan (44 off 18) and Rahul Tripathi (36 off 16) starred with the bat for Knight Riders! KKR managed to score 210/8 in their 20 overs, falling short of the target set by Shreyas Iyer-led Delhi Capitals by a margin of 18 runs.

Sharjah Cricket Stadium is considered a graveyard for bowlers this season but Knight Riders’ all-rounder Andre Russell bowled brilliantly conceding just 29 runs in his 4 overs besides his 2 crucial wickets (Rishabh Pant and Marcus Stoinis). He is the only bowler from both sides to bowl full quota of 4 overs and concede less than 8 runs per over!

Delhi Capitals captain Shreyas Iyer bagged ‘Player of the Match’ award for his unbeaten explosive knock with the bat – 88* runs off 38 deliveries which included 7 fours and 6 sixes.

Brief Scores: Delhi Capitals – 228/4 in 20 overs (Shreyas Iyer – 88*, Prithvi Shaw – 66, Andre Russell – 2/29, Kamlesh Nagarkoti – 1/35) defeated Kolkata Knight Riders – 210/8 in 20 overs (Nitish Rana – 58, Eoin Morgan – 44, Anrich Nortje – 3/33, Harshal Patel – 2/34) by a margin of 18 runs
