It was a crucial toss to win for Mumbai Indians as they opted to bat first. Though opener Rohit Sharma departed early, the opener Quinton de Kock scored 67 runs off 39 deliveries to get them to a good start! Suryakumar Yadav (27 off 18) and Ishan Kishan (31 off 23) provided the support during the middle overs while Hardik Pandya (28 off 19), Kieron Pollard (25* off 13) and Krunal Pandya (20* off 4) batted with a good strike rate during the death overs which helped Mumbai get to 208/5 in 20 overs.

Chasing 209 to win, Jonny Bairstow (25 off 15) and Manish Pandey (30 off 19) provided them an aggressive start at the top but once the duo departed, SRH batting unit went into hiding! David Warner (60 off 44) got to his half-century and was at the crease until the 16th over but with the Required Run Rate climbing, SRH stood no chance against the defending champions!

Sun Risers only managed to score 174/7 in 20 overs conceding Mumbai a 34-run victory and their third victory of the tournament! Moreover, SRH's 174 in this game is the lowest team total in Sharjah in the ongoing IPL season. Mumbai pacer Trent Boult who dismissed Jonny Bairstow and Kane Williamson bagged the 'Player of the Match' award.

Brief Scores: Mumbai Indians - 208/5 in 20 overs (Quinton de Kock - 67, Ishan Kishan - 31, Sandeep Sharma - 2/41, Siddarth Kaul - 2/64) defeated Sun Risers Hyderabad - 174/7 in 20 overs (David Warner - 60, Manish Pandey - 30, Trent Boult - 2/28, James Pattinson - 2/29) by a margin of 34 runs
