On-song Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated Rajasthan Royals (RR) by a good margin of 57 runs in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday (Oct 06) to go to the top position of the points table! This is Mumbai's third consecutive victory this season and are with 4 victories in 6 games! On the other hand, this is Rajasthan's third straight defeat after winning both their first games played in Sharjah!

Having opted to bat first, Mumbai piled up runs on the board once again courtesy their strong batting order. This time its Suryakumar Yadav's unbeaten 79* (off 47 deliveries) helped them get to a massive total of 193/4 in 20 overs. And in this innings, Kieron Pollard didn't even come to bat! Apart from Yadav, Rohit Sharma (35 off 23), Hardik Pandya (30* off 19) and Quinton de Kock (23 off 15) added quick runs and contributed to this total!
During the chase, Rajasthan fumbled at the very beginning losing Yashasvi Jaiswal (0 off 2), Steven Smith (6 off 7) and Sanju Samson (0 off 3) with just 12 runs on the board. Opener Jos Buttler (70 off 44) waged a lone war with the bat but his effort was not enough! In the end, Rajasthan were bowled out for 136 runs in 18.2 overs conceding Mumbai a 57-run victory!
Among Mumbai Indians bowlers, Jasprit Bumrah bagged 4 wickets while Trent Boult and James Pattinson bagged two wickets apiece. Kieron Pollard and Rahul Chahar bagged a wicket each. Suryakumar Yadav bagged the 'Player of the Match' award for his crucial knock with the bat.
