In what was a top-two clash between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Mumbai Indians (MI), the defending champions held their nerve to register a comfortable 5-wicket victory to go to the top of the table. At this juncture of the IPL 2020 season, both MI and DC are at the first and second places respectively with five victories and 2 defeats in their seven games each!

Having opted to bat first, Delhi Capitals were led by opener Shikhar Dhawan who remained unbeaten on 69* off 52 deliveries with 6 fours and a six. Captain Shreyas Iyer too contributed with the bat scoring a 33-ball 42 which included 5 fours. Overall, Delhi managed to get to 162/4 in 20 overs. Among MI bowlers, Krunal Pandya bagged two wickets and Trent Boult picked up a wicket. Jasprit Bumrah though wicketless, conceded just 26 runs from his 4 overs.
During the chase, Mumbai were on the course for a victory at any stage even though wickets fell at regular intervals! Opener Quinton de Kock (53 off 36) and Suryakumar Yadav (53 off 32) scored half-centuries each that set up a nice platform for their strong middle order! Kieron Pollard (11* off 14) and Krunal Pandya (12* off 7) remained unbeaten to take Mumbai home with 5 wickets in hand and two balls to spare in their innings!
Delhi's Kagiso Rabada picked up two wickets in this game taking his tally to 17 in just 7 games this season! Apart from Rabada, Axar Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin and Marcus Stoinis with a scalp each are the wicket-takers in Delhi's bowling line-up. Mumbai opener Quinton de Kock bagged 'Player of the Match' award for his crucial half-century at the top.
