Another splendid performance with both ball and the bat meant that Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by a margin of 6 wickets! Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ravindra Jadeja stood tall in a tough run-chase in Dubai guiding Chennai to their second consecutive victory.

After being sent into bat first, KKR had a solid start with a 53-run first-wicket stand between Shubman Gill (26 off 17) and Nitish Rana. After Gill's departure, Rana continued his merry show with the bat and scored 87 runs off 61 deliveries with 10 fours and 4 sixes. Three consecutive sixes off Karn Sharma in the 16th over is the highlight of Rana's knock. With an unbeaten cameo from Dinesh Karthik (21* off 10) in the death overs, KKR finished with 172/5 in 20 overs.

Among CSK bowlers, Lungi Ngidi bagged 2 wickets while spinners Mitchell Santner, Ravindra Jadeja and Karn Sharma bagged a wicket each. During the chase, CSK too had a 50-run opening partnership courtesy an explosive start by Ruturaj Gaikwad! Ambati Rayudu (38 off 20) and Gaikwad (72 off 53) added 68 runs for the second wicket and that turned the tide in favor of Chennai in this match.

Though it got tense during the death overs, Ravindra Jadeja played superb cameo scoring an unbeaten 31* off just 11 deliveries taking CSK home with 6 wickets in hand. For the record, he scored two consecutive sixes off last two deliveries to win the game for Chennai! Among KKR bowlers, Pat Cummins and Varun Chakravarthy bagged two wickets each. Ruturaj Gaikwad has been adjudged as the 'Player of the Match' for his match-winning knock with the bat during the chase.
