India tour of Australia 2020-21, Border-Gavaskar Trophy
The limited overs leg of India tour of Australia had been done and dusted! Home team Australia started off the series well winning the 3-match ODI series by a margin of 2-1. Indian team later recovered well to win the 3-match T20I series by a margin of 2-1 to take much needed confidence before the start of the start of the prestigious four-match Border-Gavaskar trophy.

The first match of the Test series is scheduled to be played at the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide beginning from December 17. It would be an interesting series to watch out for especially as India managed to defeat Warner-Smith-sans-Australia in the previous tour of Australia during the 2018/19 season.
With the return of David Warner and Steven Smith Australia seem to holding all its aces against India in the upcoming Test series. The addition of in-form Marnus Labuschagne also gave the squad much more balance to the Test squad. However, home team Australia have been dealt with a big blow as their opener David Warner is yet to recover from the groin injury he sustained during the second ODI of the recently concluded 3-match ODI series against India.
With the opener needing another 10 days to fully recover to attain full fitness for Test cricket, Warner has been ruled out of the first Test match of the 4-match series against India. According to Warner and head coach Justin Langer, the Australian opener would be attaining full-match fitness by the Boxing Day Test match on December 26.
"I feel I have made great progress in a short amount of time and it's best for me to stay here in Sydney to continue working on getting back to full fitness. The injury feels a lot better, but I need to be able to satisfy in my own mind and to my team-mates that it is 100 per cent ready for Test match conditions. That includes running between the wickets and being agile in the field. Right now I feel I am short of being able to play at peak fitness and another 10 days will make a difference," said David Warner about his fitness levels ahead of the Test series.
