Ireland opener Paul Stirling and Bangladesh all-rounder Mehidy Hasan have made progress in the updated ODI Player Rankings after the recently concluded multiple ODI series. Afghanistan whitewashed Ireland and Bangladesh whitewashed West Indies in 3-match ODI series respectively.
Paul Stirling (Ire):
Stirling scored centuries in both the second and third ODI matches against Afghanistan in UAE taking his tally to 285 runs in the three games. Even though Ireland lost the series to Afghanistan, Stirling turned out to be the top performer with the bat from both sides!
Courtesy of these twin centuries, Stirling has gained 8 places and moved up to 20th place in the ICC ODI Batsmen Rankings. He is with 684 rating points and his highest rating points were 689 which he achieved against Pakistan during a home series in 2013! With the kind of form he is in now, Stirling would be looking to break into the top 10 ODI Batsmen list! Stirling is also the highest-ranked ODI batsman for Ireland at the moment.
Mehidy Hasan (Ban):
In the three-match series where Bangladesh whitewashed West Indies at home, Mehidy Hasan was the most successful bowler. He bagged 7 wickets at an average of 10.29 which includes a 4-for in the second ODI of the series.
Mehidy progressed to the fourth position climbing up 9 spots courtesy of this performance in the series. He currently has 694 rating points which are also the best for him in his ODI career to date. Trent Boult (722 rating points), Mujeeb ur Rahman (708) and Jasprit Bumrah (700) are the top-3 ranked bowlers in ICC ODI Rankings.

Bangladesh bowler Mustafizur Rahman bagged 6 wickets in this series and climbed up 11 spots to currently position himself at No. 8 ICC ODI Bowler Rankings. Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib al Hasan who returned from a one-year ban by ICC, has climbed up 15 spots to 13th position in the ODI Bowler Rankings.
