Afghanistan name T20I squad for Zimbabwe series

Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) on Sunday (Mar 14) announced their 15-member squad for the upcoming 3-match T20I series against Zimbabwe. They have also placed 5 players on standby owing to visa-related issues to travel to UAE from Afghanistan. As per ACB, a decision on the standby players will be taken at a later date provided the issues are cleared.

As was the case in the Test series, Asghar Afghan is set to lead them in this 3-match T20I series as well. Mohammad Nabi returns to the side after missing the Test series owing to his retirement from the longer format. On the other hand, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Gulbadin Naib, Hamid Hassan, Waqar Salamkheil and Azmatullah Omarzai are the players on standby at the moment.

Just like the Test series, the whole 3-match T20I series will be played at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. The 3 T20Is are scheduled to be played on March 17, 19 & 20.
