England pacer James Anderson has been brilliant with the ball in the Boxing Day Test match against Australia at MCG. He bagged 4 wickets as the visitors rolled out the home team for just 267 runs in the only innings they batted. Anderson picked up the wickets of David Warner, Steven Smith, Marcus Harris, Pat Cummins in the MCG Test match!
With this bowling performance, Anderson climbed 3 spots in the ICC Test bowling rankings pushing down Josh Hazlewood, Kagiso Rabada, Neil Wagner who are now placed right below Anderson in the same order! Anderson climbing 3 spots is the only change in the ICC Test bowling rankings which have Pat Cummins (902 rating points) and Ravichandran Ashwin (883) in the first two positions.
As far as the ICC Test Batting positions are concerned, Steven Smith dropped down one place to fourth while Kane Williamson moves up to third! This was the only change in the updated rankings! In-form batters Marnus Labuschagne (915 rating points) and Joe Root (900) retained their first and second positions respectively on the list.
Just like the bowling and batting slots, there is also just a change in the ICC Test all-rounders. But it's a very surprising one! Mitchell Starc moved up one position to no.5 while Ben Stokes dropped down one position to sixth! In the 3 Ashes matches concluded so far, Starc scored 117 runs and bagged 14 wickets while Stokes scored 101 runs and bagged just 4 wickets!
