Here is the full guide for the series:

History of the rivalry between these two teams:

Beginning from 1992, both South Africa and India have played 7 Test series in South Africa. South Africa won six of those series while India managed to draw the 3-match Test series in 2010 by 1-1. Both teams, overall, had played 20 Tests in South Africa so far out of which South Africa had won 10 Tests and 7 were drawn! India managed to grab a victory in the years 2006, 2010 & 2018!

Leadership of both the teams:

Home team South Africa will be led by Dean Elgar in this 3-match Test series while Temba Bavuma will be his deputy. Elgar so far has led South Africa in 4 Test matches and won 3 of them! His only defeat as Test captain has come at Lord's against England in 2017!

India will be led by Virat Kohli with KL Rahul as his deputy. This is Virat Kohli's second Test series as captain in South Africa. During the 2018 series, India managed to win the final Test match of the series after losing the first two Test matches of the series. India would be looking to win this time against a weak South African line-up to register their maiden Test series victory on this soil.
