Indian bowlers, as was the case in the first ODI, completely dominated English batters in the second ODI at Lord's. India were favorites to win this match at the halfway stage of the innings to go on to win the series! However, for a change, England bowlers decided to show up and spoiled the party for the Visitors!

Reece Topley bowled brilliantly for England as he bagged bowling figures of 6/24 from his 9.5 overs. Like Bumrah's in the first ODI, this 6-fer from Topley proved to be the difference between the two sides! India, chasing 247 for victory, fell short by 100 runs in the end and were also bowled out in just 38.5 overs!
None of the Indian batters went past the 30-run mark individually and that weighed down their scorecard heavily! They found it hard initially to get a quick start as Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant both scored naughts! The other two batters in India's top 4 - Shikhar Dhawan (9 off 26) and Virat Kohli (16 off 25) - did not score at a good rate!
Four scores in 20s from the Indian middle order helped India get past 100-run mark but they couldn't take them to victory in this match! Eventually, India were bowled out with a total way less than what England's total was!!
Earlier in the match, England posted 246 runs on the board before getting bowled out in 49 overs. Yuzvendra Chahal was the pick of Indian bowlers with a four-for from his 10 overs. England were at one stage were with 72/1 on the board and they were soon reduced to 102/5! That collapse sent down shivers across the English camp but they recovered with contributions from Moeen Ali (47), David Willey (41) and Liam Livingstone (33).
With this 100-run victory, England have levelled the 3-match series by 1-1 with a match to go on Sunday (Jul 17)! The third and final ODI of the series will be played at Manchester. Unlike the T20I series earlier, this third ODI is going to be a series decider and might bring best out of both the teams!
Brief Scores: England - 246 all out in 49 overs (Moeen Ali - 47, Yuzvendra Chahal - 4/47) defeated India - 146 all out in 38.5 overs (Ravindra Jadeja - 29, Reece Topley - 6/24) by 100 runs
