Hardik, Rishabh help India win England ODI series

Series was on the line with both England and India winning one match each from the first two games! Indian captain Rohit Sharma once again won the toss and opt to field first! Bowlers especially Hardik Pandya stepped up as England were bowled out for just 259 runs in 45.5 overs.

Yuzvendra Chahal picked up 3 wickets at the end to better his bowling figures in this match! At one stage he was conceding around 8 runs per over without a wicket and to where he finished was amazing - 3/60 from his 9.5 overs! Bumrah was ruled out of this match with a niggle and his replacement Siraj stepped with 2 wickets and that too both came in the same over as Bairstow and Root both were dismissed for 3-ball Ducks each!

Jos Buttler played a captain's knock scoring a half-century but he too did not score quickly against the in-form Indian bowling attack! Hardik getting the wicket of Liam Livingstone was the highlight of the match. There were fours, sixes and even smiles exchanged and then the wicket fell all of a sudden!

During the run-chase, India were reduced to 38/3 and that was not a good position for them with the series on the line. Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya (71 off 55) added 133 runs for the fifth wicket and that stand had taken away the game as well as the series from the home team!

India eventually chased down the target with 5 wickets in hand and 7.5 overs to spare. Rishabh scored a brilliant century during the run-chase, his maiden 100 in this format - unbeaten 125* off 117 balls. Incidentally, Pant's maiden hundred in both Test and ODI formats had come against England in England!

Brief Scores: India - 261/5 in 42.1 overs (Rishabh Pant - 125*, Reece Topley - 3/35) defeated England - 259 all out in 45.5 overs (Jos Buttler - 60, Hardik Pandya - 4/24) by a margin of 5 wickets
