Determined Zimbabwe defeated Bangladesh in the first T20I of the 3-match series. Their all-rounder Sikandar Raza who was in a rough patch recently finally hit the correct notes to take his team to victory!

Zimbabwe won the toss and opted to bat first. Having opted to bat first in Harare, the hosts posted a total of 205/3 on the board in 20 overs. Wessly Madhevere top scored for the hosts with 67 runs while Sikandar Raza provided much-needed momentum in the final overs with his unbeaten 26-ball 65*.
Bangladesh, chasing 206 runs to win, put together a total of 188 losing 6 wickets in 20 overs. Most of the Bangladesh batters got starts but couldn't stay longer at the crease! Zimbabwe defeated Bangladesh by a margin of 17 runs in the end as they successfully the target at their home ground.
Zimbabwe, with this 17-run victory, are now leading the 3-match series by 1-0. The second T20I of the series will be played in Harare on Sunday (July 31).
