Australia crush Zimbabwe in 2nd ODI to wrap up series

Bowlers run rampage as they crushed Zimbabwe to help Australia win the 2nd ODI of the 3-match series at home! Visitors couldn't even cross the 100-run mark as a team as they faced a heavy defeat in the hands of Australia in this 2nd ODI to lose the series.

Toss Update: Australia won the toss and opted to field first.

After being sent into bat first, Zimbabwe were bowled out for just 96 runs in 27.5 overs. Mitchell Starc (2/24) and Adam Zampa (3/21) both bagged 3-wicket hauls as they lead the bowling attack! Cameron Green (2/7), Josh Hazlewood (1/16), and Ashton Agar (1/15) were the other wicket-takers in this innings!

In fact, Starc removed all the top 3 batters in this innings with just 14 runs on the board. And Zimbabwe never really recovered from this collapse upfront! Sean Williams (29 off 45) was their top scorer as they bundled out for just 96 runs!

Australia chased down the total losing just 2 wickets in 14.4 overs. Steven Smith (47* off 41) for the second consecutive time remained unbeaten in the 40s! The home team got over the line inside 15 overs to take an unassailable lead of 2-0 in this 3-match series.

Match result: Australia defeated Zimbabwe by a margin of 8 wickets.

Mitchell Starc has been adjudged as the Player of the Match for his crucial contribution of 3-24 from his 8 overs including a maiden over. Australia are currently leading the 3-match series 2-0 with the third and final ODI on Saturday (Sep 03).
