Bangladesh register consolation victory in 3rd ODI

Afif Hossain's unbeaten 85* and Mustafizur Rahman 4-17 helped Bangladesh defeat Zimbabwe in the 3rd and final ODI of the 3-match series. This is a consolation victory for the visitors in this series as hosts Zimbabwe won the first two ODIs to win this 3-match series!

Toss Update: Zimbabwe won the toss and opted to field first.

After being sent into bat first, Bangladesh scored 256 on the board losing 9 wickets in 50 overs courtesy of an unbeaten 85* from Afif Hossain. Opener Anamul Haque too batted superbly scoring 76 runs. Home team bowlers were exceptional compared to their performances from the first two ODIs with Luke Jongwe and Brad Evans picking up 2 wickets each.

Zimbabwe, chasing 257 runs to win, bowled out for just 151 runs in 32.2 overs. Their hero in the first two games Sikandar Raza departed for a first-ball Duck and that cost the game for the hosts! Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman bagged 4-17 from his 5.2 overs as the hosts were completely outplayed in this third ODI match!

Match result: Bangladesh defeated Zimbabwe by a margin of 105 runs.

Afif Hossain has been adjudged as the Player of the Match for his crucial contribution of 85* off 81 balls with 6 fours and 2 sixes. With this match, the Bangladesh tour of Zimbabwe has come to an end. Zimbabwe won both the T20I series as well as the ODI series by a 2-1 margin each.
