Toss Update: West Indies won the toss and opted to field first.

After being sent into bat first, New Zealand scored 185 on the board losing 5 wickets in 20 overs. West Indies, chasing 186 runs to win, only managed to post 172 runs losing 7 wickets in 20 overs. Though they got so close it was nonetheless a heartbreaking defeat for them! Bowlers Romario Shepherd (31* off 16) and Odean Smith (27* off 12) shared an unbeaten 58*-run stand for the 8th wicket but they couldn't take them over the line as their top order had a failure with the bat.

Even though Shamarh Brooks scored 42 runs, he consumed 43 balls to get there! And the rest of the 4 batters from the top 5 collectively scored just 19 runs from 18 deliveries!

Match result: New Zealand defeated West Indies by a margin of 13 runs.
