England announce playing XI for Lord's Test match

England had a tough time in both the limited-overs series against South Africa at home having failed to win even one of them! The 3-match ODI series was level 1-1 with the final ODI washed away by rain while South Africa won the 3-match T20I series by 2-1.

It is now time for these two teams to start the 3-match Test series beginning on Wednesday. The three Test matches will be played at Lord's, Old Trafford, and Kennington Oval respectively! The first Test match will be played at the prestigious Lord's venue beginning on 18th August.

As was the tradition followed by the England team at home, their captain Ben Stokes has announced their playing XI for the first Test match a day in advance! They played their last Test match against India in July this year and they had made one change to their XI from that India Test.

Sam Billings who was earlier included in their playing XI after Ben Foakes injured himself has now been rested as Foakes made it to the XI. This was the only change made by the home team for this Lord's Test match.

England started playing aggressively at home under their new head coach Brendon McCullum. And their 'BazBall' approach is the one to watch out for as well in the upcoming 3-match Test series!
