Shabaz Ahmed replace injured Sundar for Zimbabwe ODIs

The national selectors of India have announced a replacement for injured Washington Sundar in the Indian squad for the upcoming 3-match ODI series in Zimbabwe. All-rounder Shabaz Ahmed who came into the limelight for his performances in the Indian Premier League for RCB has been roped in as the replacement!

"The All-India Senior Selection Committee named Shahbaz Ahmed as the replacement for Washington Sundar for the three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe. Washington Sundar injured his shoulder while playing a County game in England. He has been ruled out of the Zimbabwe tour," stated BCCI in their media release.

The 3-match ODI series between India and Zimbabwe will be played at the Harare Sports Club in Harare beginning on 18th August. The second and third ODIs will be played at the same venue on the 20th and 22nd of August.

In case you missed it, KL Rahul has been earlier ruled fully fit and has been named as the captain of the Indian side. Shikhar Dhawan who was earlier named as the captain will act as Rahul's deputy in this 3-match series.
