Hong Kong defeat Singapore in the Asia Cup Qualifier opener

Kinchit Shah's 34 and Ehsan Khan's 3-20 helped Hong Kong comfortably defeat Singapore in the 1st match of the Asia Cup Qualifier 2022 tournament.

Toss Update: Singapore won the toss and opted to field first.

After being sent into bat first, Hong Kong scored 148 on the board losing 9 wickets in 20 overs. Kinchit Shah top scored for them with 34 runs while there were 3 other scores in the 20s in this innings. It was a decent bowling performance from the Singapore team as they kept the scoring rate to just over 7 runs per over!

Singapore, chasing 149 runs to win, managed to score 140 losing 7 wickets in 20 overs falling agonizingly short of the target by 8 runs! Hong Kong bowlers Ehsan Khan (3-20 from 4 overs) and Mohammad Ghazanfar (2-20 from 4 overs) bowled economically as the Singapore team lost by a small margin in the end!
