Mandhana, Rodrigues carry India to Commonwealth Final

Smriti Mandhana's 61 and Jemimah Rodrigues' 44 helped India Women comfortably defeat England Women in the semi-final match of the ongoing Commonwealth games in England. India will await for the result of the second semi-final between Australia and New Zealand which happens tonight!

Toss Update: India Women won the toss and opted to bat first.

Having opted to bat first, Smriti Mandhana got India off to a flier with her 32-ball 61 including 8 fours and 3 sixes! India posted a score of 164 on the board losing 5 wickets in 20 overs with Jemimah Rodrigues left unbeaten on 44* off 31 deliveries. At the halfway mark, India were having a commanding position but the hosts took the match right to the final delivery!

England Women, chasing 165 runs to win, only managed to score 160 runs losing 6 wickets in 20 overs. The hosts eventually lost the game by 4 runs! There were starts in the England line-up but couldn't carry their team over the line tonight! In the end, Mandhana's storming innings at the top proved very much useful for India!
