Ireland stay alive in Super 12 race with win over Scotland

Curtis Campher with the bat and Curtis Campher with the ball helped Ireland comfortably defeat Scotland in the 7th match of the First Round of the T20 World Cup 2022 edition to stay alive in the competition. It was a thriller where both teams made comebacks and Ireland finally snatched the victory!

Toss Update: Scotland won the toss and opted to bat first.

Having opted to bat first, Scotland scored 176 on the board losing 5 wickets in 20 overs. Opener Michael Jones was the star of their innings with 86 runs off 55 deliveries including 6 fours and 4 sixes. Matthew Cross (28 off 21) and Richard Berrington (37 off 27) also contributed in crucial partnerships for the 2nd and wickets respectively.

Curtis Campher was the star with the ball returning 2-9 from his 2 overs. Unfortunately, he couldn't bowl his entire quota of overs! On the other hand, Mark Adair bowled a brilliant 20th over conceding just 6 runs which include 2 leg byes and 3 dot balls!

The duo stitched an unbeaten 119*-run stand for the fifth wicket to take them home by 6 wickets! In the process, Campher remained unbeaten on 72* off 32 balls while Dockrell made an unbeaten 39* off 27 balls. Brad Wheal was the pick of Scotland bowlers with figures of 1-25 from his 4 overs.
