Toss Update: Namibia won the toss and opted to bat first.
Having opted to bat first, Namibia scored 121 runs on the board losing 6 wickets in 20 overs. This was just a below-par score given the fact that they still have wickets in hand. Jan Frylinck once again top-scored for them with 43 runs. Interestingly, almost all of their batters played with a very poor strike rate.
Bas de Leede was the pick of the Netherlands bowlers with figures of 2-18 from his 3 overs. Except for one bowler, all of their remaining bowlers in this match conceded less than 6 runs per over!
The Netherlands, chasing 122 runs to win, managed to score 122 losing 5 wickets in 19.3 overs. Their top 3 scored 104 runs between them but they also has eaten up 96 runs for these runs! Frylinck bowled a wicket-maiden 17th over and that made things interesting for sometime during this low run-chase.
The equation has come down to 20 runs from the last 18 balls. With the target being less, the Netherlands eventually got home with 5 wickets in hand and 3 balls to spare.
Match result: Netherlands defeated Namibia by a margin of 5 wickets.
Bas de Leede has been adjudged the Player of the Match for his crucial contribution of 30* off 30 balls with the bat and 2-18 with the ball.
