Rilee Rossouw and Quinton de Kock with the bat and Dwaine Pretorius and Kagiso Rabada with the ball helped as South Africa comfortably defeated India in the 3rd and T20I of the 3-match series to register a consolation win in this series. The small boundaries at Indore promised another run fest but India fell short by a big margin after resting Rahul and Kohli for this dead rubber!

Toss Update: India won the toss and opted to field first.
After being sent into bat first, South Africa scored 227 on the board losing 3 wickets in 20 overs. Temba Bavuma had another failure with the bat scoring just 3 runs off 8 deliveries. Quinton de Kock scored 68 runs off 43 deliveries and was part of a 90-run stand for the 2nd wicket. But it was Rilee Rossouw who put the South African innings together with his 48-ball unbeaten century (100 not out) including 7 fours and 8 sixes.
David Miller scored 3 consecutive sixes in the final over as they finished with a massive total on the board. On the other hand, Mohammad Siraj had a forgettable day in the field at the boundary as he missed two crucial opportunities - One was palming a ball for six and the other was stepping on the boundary cushion after taking a catch! Both proved costly for India.
India, chasing 228 runs to win, managed to score 178 losing 10 wickets in 18.3 overs. With Rahul and Virat rested, Rishabh Pant (27 off 14) and Shreyas Iyer (1 off 4) have been called to take their places in the batting order. And both failed to make a mark! Dinesh Karthik came out to bat at no. 4 ahead of Suryakumar and made 46 runs off 21 deliveries before getting dismissed in the 7th over!
Unfortunately, DK got out to a shot (reverse sweeping a bounced delivery from a spinner) that he should be playing in the death overs if he comes out as a finisher! But his shot selection cost him the wicket and India an early blow! SKY too failed to make an impact at no. 5 scoring just 8 runs. Deepak Chahar (31 off 17) and Umesh Yadav (21* off 17) scored crucial runs at the end but couldn't take India to victory.
Dwaine Pretorius was the pick of South African bowlers with a 3-wicket haul while Wayne Parnell, Lungi Ngidi, and Keshav Maharaj all bagged two wickets each. Kagiso Rabada picked up the sole wicket and he was economical with the ball conceding 24 runs from 4 overs.
Match result: South Africa defeated India by a margin of 49 runs.
Rilee Rossouw has been adjudged as the Player of the Match for his crucial contribution of 100* not out off 48 deliveries with 7 fours and 8 sixes. With this third T20I, the 3-match series comes to an end with India emerging victorious by 2-1. These two teams will now switch to the 3-match ODI series that begins on Thursday (Oct 06) in Lucknow.
Brief Scores: South Africa: 227-3 in 20 overs (Rilee Rossouw - 100*, Umesh Yadav - 1-34) defeated India: 178-10 in 18.3 overs (Dinesh Karthik - 46, Dwaine Pretorius - 3-26) by a margin of 49 runs
