Former Australian captain Tim Paine is all set to make a return to the game of cricket with the shield game between Tasmania and Queensland beginning on the 6th of October in Brisbane. He walked away from Cricket at the International level just ahead of Ashes last year with Pat Cummins being named as his successor as Australia's test captain.

According to Cricket Australia, Tasmania has not even offered Paine a state contract for the 2022-23 season as he walked away from the game! However, he is now all set to return to the side as wicket-keeper for the shield games!
Tasmanian wicket-keeper Matthew Wade is currently with the Australian T20I team for the upcoming T20 World Cup. And their other keepers Ben McDermott and Jake Doran have been included in the Tasmanian squad as pure batters.
"He has been training with us the last couple of months. And it wasn't until we selected over the last week or two, firstly his name was on the table for one-day cricket and then he was on the table last week when we selected the Shield squad," said Tasmania's coach Jeff Vaughan to reporters on Tuesday.
