2nd T20I: India defeat New Zealand by 7 wickets

India defeated New Zealand by a margin of seven wickets in the second T20I at the Eden Park in Auckland on Sunday (Jan 26) to take a lead of 2-0 in the five-match series. Despite winning the toss and opting to bat first on a small ground, New Zealand went on to lose the game owing to their poor application with the bat.

New Zealand, batting first, scored a meager score of 132 for 5 on a pitch, where India successfully chased down 200+ target two days ago. In reply, India got to the target with seven wickets in hand and 2.3 overs to spare. Lokesh Rahul (57 off 50) and Shreyas Iyer (44 off 33) were the pick of the batsmen in this game.

Lokesh Rahul has been adjudged as the 'Player of the Match' for his match-winning knock. The third T20I of the series is scheduled to be played at the Seddon Park in Hamilton on Wednesday (Jan 26). Play is scheduled to start at 12:30 pm IST.
