Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by an innings and 44 runs in the first Test match of the two-match series to go 1-0 up in the series at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi. With this match, the second half of the three-part 'Bangladesh tour of Pakistan' comes to an end!
Bangladesh were bowled out for 233 and 168 in both the innings while Pakistan scored 445 in the only innings they batted in this match. Shan Masood (100 off 160) and Babar Azam (143 off 193) scored centuries for Pakistan while Mohammad Mithun (63 off 140) is the only player to score a half-century for Bangladesh in this Test match.
Naseem Shah bagged the 'Player of the Match' for his hat-trick in the second innings which included the wickets of Nazmul Hossain Shanto, Taijjul Islam and Mahmudullah. The two teams will play a one-off ODI on April 03 followed by the second Test match of this series starting from April 05. Both these games are scheduled to be played at the National Stadium in Karachi.
