Another thriller in the series! But this time, it is England who held their nerve to win the game by 2 runs! England defeated South Africa by a margin of 2 runs in the second T20I of the three-match series on Friday (Feb 14) at Kingsmead in Durban to level the series 1-1. Pacer Tom Curran defended 2 runs off last three balls to help England level the series!
After being put to bat first, England scored a massive 204 for 7 in 20 overs courtesy crucial contributions from Jason Roy (40 off 29), Jonny Bairstow (35 off 17), Ben Stokes (47* off 30) and Moeen Ali (39 off 11). In reply, South Africa scored 202 for 7 losing the game by 2 runs. Quinton de Kock (65 off 22) and Rassie van der Dussen (43 off 26) performed superbly with the bat for the home team but in vain!
Moeen Ali has been adjudged as the 'Player of the Match' for his explosive knock with the bat that helped England go past the 200-run mark. The third and final T20I of the series is scheduled to be played at Super sport park in Centurion on Sunday (Feb 16).
