India defeated New Zealand in the Super Over yet again in the fourth T20I at the Sky Stadium in Wellington on Friday (Jan 31) to take 4-0 lead in this ongoing five-match series. New Zealand for the second time in as many games failed to score single-digit runs in the final over to concede India a morale-boosting victory.
After being sent in to bat first, India scored 165 for 8 in 20 overs courtesy a fighting half-century from Indian middle-order batsman Manish Pandey (50 off 36). In reply, New Zealand too scored 165 for 7 to push the game into a Super Over which they went on to lose eventually!
Shardul Thakur has been adjudged as the 'Player of the Match' for delivering a fantastic 'final over' that helped India push the game into a Super Over and take victory! The fifth and final T20I of the series is scheduled to be played at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui on Sunday (Feb 02).
