India defeated New Zealand in the fifth and final T20I of the series at Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui on Sunday (Feb 02) to complete 5-0 whitewash in the series. This is the first time in the history of T20I cricket that a Test playing nation whitewashed another Test playing nation in a five-match T20I series.
Having opted to bat first, India failed to post a massive total on the board. However, their 163 for 3 seemed to be too much for the misfiring New Zealand who lost the game by 7 runs in the end!
