WWT20: West Indies defeated Thailand by 7 wickets

West Indies Women defeated Thailand Women by a margin of 7 wickets on Saturday (Feb 22) at the W.A.C.A ground in Perth on Saturday (Feb 22) to open their account in the ongoing Women's World T20 2020. Captain Stafanie Taylor remained unbeaten to take them home in this game.

Having opted to bat first, Thailand scored 78 for 9 in 20 overs courtesy a 48-ball 33 from Nannapat Koncharoenkai. In reply, West Indies chased down the target with 7 wickets in hand and 3.2 overs to spare. West Indies captain Stafanie Taylor scored an unbeaten 26* with the bat and picked up three wickets with the ball during the first half of the game.

Stafanie Taylor has been adjudged as the 'Player of the Match' for her all-round show in this game. West Indies and Thailand will play their next game of the tournament on Wednesday (Feb 26) against Pakistan and England respectively!
