In what comes a latest development from the trans-Tasman series, Australian Women all-rounder Ellyse Perry has been ruled out of the whole limited-overs series against New Zealand Women. She will take no further part in the ongoing three-match T20I series or the three-match ODI series which kick starts from Saturday (Oct 03).
Perry who is currently recovering from the right hamstring injury she sustained during World T20 earlier this year, suffered a low-grade strain to a different part of the same hamstring during the training sessions prior to the ongoing T20I series against New Zealand Women.

This fresh injury also laid to rest all her plans of making a comeback at the start of the upcoming WBBL season which starts from October 25 later this year! The same has also been confirmed by the Australian Women captain Meg Lanning. Losing a player of Perry's standard is a big blow for the Australian team as well as the Women's Big Bash League!
"Ellyse [Perry] had been on track to play some part in this series but unfortunately she had some hamstring awareness, she’s got a low-grade strain so she won’t be available for the rest of this series. She will continue her rehab and training in the hope of being available at some point in the WBBL but she won’t be playing any part in this series," Australia captain Meg Lanning confirmed on Tuesday.
Australia Women won the first two T20Is of the three-match series against New Zealand Women and had already taken an unassailable lead of 2-0 in the series! The final T20I will be played on Wednesday (Sep 30). The three matches in the ODI series will be played on Oct 03, 05 and 07. All the six games in this tour are to be hosted by the Allan Border Field venue in Brisbane!
