ICC Team Rankings are a metric to measure team performances in the past 12 to 15 months. The period for which the rating points are calculated is different as the format varies. Here is a look at the teams who are currently (September 29, 2020) at the top of the Team Rankings
Tests: Australia (116 rating points)
Australia are one of the most consistent teams in the world at the moment and are currently stationed at the top of the ICC Team Rankings in the longest format of the game. They were once struggling to find their feet in this format following the ball-tampering scandal in 2018. However, they have made a strong comeback since then to occupy the top position in this list.

With 115 and 114 rating points respectively, New Zealand and India are at the second and third positions in this list. Meanwhile, India who will tour Australia later this year for a four-match Test series has the chance to dethrone Aussies from the top of the table in this format!
ODIs: England (123 rating points)
World champions England are at the top of the list courtesy of their huge success in this format of the game under the leadership of Eoin Morgan. They are at the top with 123 rating points while India and New Zealand are at the second and third positions of the list with 119 and 116 rating points respectively.
Taking nothing away from England's recent past performances but they would like to continue at the top of this list for a while as no ODI games are scheduled to be played in the near future with Covid pandemic.
T20Is: Australia (275 rating points)
Since the T20I format was introduced in early 2000s, Australia for most of the period till now failed to show its dominance in this shortest format of the game. They are yet to win a World T20 tournament! However, the current form of the Australian team tells a different story. Adaptability to any conditions has helped them to get to the top of the table in this format for now.
Australia are at the top of the list with 275 rating points while England and India are at the second and third positions respectively with 271 and 266 rating points. Again, it will be toss up between India and Australia when they meet in a three-match T20I series later this year in Australia.
