Perry is reported to injured her hamstring during the Women's T20 World Cup earlier this year (March 2020) and is yet to recover from the injury since. "She is still working through her 'return-to-play' plan. When she ticks off all those markers, she'll be available. But she's still working through that so we won't see her tomorrow," stated the Australian Women captain, Meg Lanning ahead of the T20I series.

Australia Women are set to host New Zealand Women for a three-match T20I series beginning from Saturday (Sep 26) followed by a three-match ODI series. All the six games are scheduled to be played at the Allan Border Field in Brisbane. T20Is are scheduled to be played on Sep 26, 27 and 30 while ODIs will be played on Oct 03, 05 and 07.
