Chennai Super Kings once again looked clueless in a chase and that cost them very dearly as they bagged third straight defeat of the season! With a victory and three defeats in their four games thus far, CSK are stationed at the bottom of the points table with just 2 points! Time seem to be running out for CSK as they might fail to make it to playoffs this season if they play the whole season at this rate!

Having opted to bat first, Sun Risers once again failed to score quick runs at the top. They were struggling with 69 runs for the loss of 4 wickets on the board in 11 overs and then a crucial 77-run partnership between young duo - Priyam Garg (51* off 26) and Abhishek Sharma (31 off 24) - helped them get to 161/5 in 20 overs.
Chasing 162 to win, Chennai Super Kings once again left too many runs for the death overs and they failed to get over the line by a margin of 7 runs! Ravindra Jadeja scored his maiden half-century in the T20 format but his innings went in vain. Dhoni finished with figures of unbeaten 47* runs off 36 deliveries but all his innings was of no use to CSK! Dhoni started hitting only when asking rate was close to 20 and he batted very slowly prior to that!
Chennai's middle-order batsman Priyam Garg has been adjudged as the 'Player of the Match' for his crucial contribution with the bat. Moreover, his unbeaten 51* in this innings is also his maiden T20 fifty!
