Thursday, Oct 09, 2020, Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai

Problems aplenty for Kings XI Punjab as they lost their fourth consecutive match this season. With five defeats in six games, they are currently positioned at the bottom of the table with just 2 points. Both the Sun Risers openers Jonny Bairstow and David Warner fired in this game against Kings XI and that helped SRH win the game by a mammoth margin in the end!

Having opted to bat first, Sun Risers rode on the half-centuries each from David Warner (52 off 40) and Jonny Bairstow (97 off 55). The duo added 160 runs for the first wicket and were dismissed in the space of four deliveries in the 16th over. Kane Williamson scored a brisk 20 off just 10 deliveries to help SRH finish with 201/6 in 20 overs. KXIP spinner Ravi Bishnoi who conceded 18 runs without a wicket from his first over finished with figures of 3/29 in his 3 overs. That's quite a comeback from the 20-year old!

During the chase, Nicholas Pooran showed promise with the bat scoring a half-century (77 off 37 deliveries with 5 fours and 7 sixes) but others did not stayed long at the crease. Next best score in Punjab's innings is 11 by Prabhsimran Singh and KL Rahul! That says the sorry state of Punjab's batting in this match. Overall, KXIP were cleaned up for just 132 runs conceding Sun Risers a massive 69-run victory.

Among SRH bowlers, Rashid Khan bowled brilliantly conceding just 12 runs from his 4 overs. He accounted for the wickets of dangerous Nicholas Pooran, Mandeep Singh and Mohammad Shami. Natarajan and Khaleel Ahmed bagged two wickets each while Abhishek Sharma picked up a wicket. Jonny Bairstow bagged the 'Player of the Match' award for his explosive match-wining knock with the bat.

Brief Scores: Sun Risers Hyderabad - 201/6 in 20 overs (Jonny Bairstow - 97, David Warner - 52, Ravi Bishnoi - 3/29, Arshdeep Singh - 2/33) defeated Kings XI Punjab - 132 all out in 16.5 overs (Nicholas Pooran - 77, Rashid Khan - 3/12, T Natarajan - 2/24) by a margin of 69 runs
