After being sent into bat first, Delhi Capitals struggled to score quick runs at the beginning. They lost three wickets (Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan and Shreyas Iyer) inside the powerplay and were at that stage looking completely out of the game! If not for Marcus Stoinis (39 off 30) and Shimron Hetmyer (45 off 24), Delhi would have ended somewhere around 150-mark! Courtesy of these contributions, Delhi got to 184/8 in 20 overs.

Among RR bowlers, Jofra Archer bowled economically as well as picked up three wickets - 3/24 in 4 overs. Andrew Tye who replaced Tom Curran in this match conceded 50 runs from his 4 overs with a wicket. Rahul Tewatia and Kartik Tyagi bagged a wicket each as well. At the halfway stage, Royals were clear favorites to win this game as the target was below 200-mark but Delhi bowlers had other plans!

Needing 185 to win, Royals lost Jos Buttler (13 off 8), Steven Smith (24 off 17) and Sanju Samson (5 off 9) in quick succession and cheaply as well. Young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal (34 off 36) and Rahul Tewatia (38 off 29) registered scores in 30s but their strike rate was very much low and they both departed after consuming too many deliveries! In the end, Royals were bowled out for 139 in 19.4 overs conceding a massive 46-run victory for Capitals.

Among Delhi bowlers, Kagiso Rabada bagged three wickets while Ravi Ashwin and Marcus Stoinis bagged two wickets each. Anrich Nortje, Harshal Patel and Axal Patel all accounted for a wicket each. Ravichandran Ashwin bagged the 'Player of the Match' for his two crucial wickets that stemmed the run flow!

Brief Scores: Delhi Capitals - 184/8 in 20 overs (Shimron Hetmyer - 45, Marcus Stoinis - 39, Jofra Archer - 3/24, Rahul Tewatia - 1/20) defeated Rajasthan Royals - 138 all out in 19.4 overs (Rahul Tewatia - 38, Yashasvi Jaiswal - 34, Kagiso Rabada - 3/35, Ravichandran Ashwin - 2/22) by a margin of 46 runs
