England tour of South Africa 2020, 3-match T20I series, Third T20I, South Africa vs England - England won by 4 wickets

Sunday, Nov 29, 2020, Boland Park, Paarl

After being sent into bat first, home team South Africa found it massively difficult to get going with the bat. The scorecard reading 95/5 in the 14th over tells the worrying tale of Proteas batting in this game. Captain Quinton de Kock (30 off 18) top scored for them while 20s each from van der Dussen (25* off 29) and George Linde (29 off 20) helped them get to a par total of 146/6 in 20 overs.

Adil Rashid was the pick of England bowlers with 2 wickets. Moreover, he bowled economically as well as he conceded just 23 runs from his 4 overs! Chris Jordan bagged a wicket in this match and with it, he is now the joint-highest wicket-taker for England in T20Is alongside Stuart Broad - both have 65 T20I wickets thus far. Jofra Archer and Tom Curran with a wicket each are the other wicket-takers in England bowling line-up.

During the chase, both teams were in the game until the 18th over bowled by Lungi Ngidi. When England needed 29 runs from the last 18 deliveries, Ngidi conceded 18 from the 18th over which gave away all the little advantage Proteas had in the game to level the series! Dawid Malan was the star of England's innings as he scored a half-century - 55 runs off 40 deliveries - in this series victory! Visitors chased down the target with just a ball to spare in their innings.

Spinner Tabraiz Shamsi was the pick of Proteas bowlers with three wickets while Lungi Ngidi (2 wickets) and Kagiso Rabada (1 wicket) are the other wicket-takers for SA in this innings. Meanwhile, Dawid Malan bagged the 'Player of the Match' award for his match-winning half-century. England currently lead the three-match T20I series by 2-0. The third and final T20I of the series will be played at the Newlands stadium in Cape Town on Tuesday (Dec 01).

Brief Scores: England - 147/6 in 19.5 overs (Dawid Malan - 55*, Eoin Morgan - 26*, Tabraiz Shamsi - 3/19, Lungi Ngidi - 2/51) defeated South Africa - 146/6 in 20 overs (Quinton de Kock - 30, George Linde - 29, Adil Rashid - 2/23, Chris Jordan - 1/29) by a margin of 4 wickets
