All-rounder Dawid Wiese put up an all-round show in this match as he helped Namibia to register their maiden victory in the ICC World Cup tournament! Having opted to field first, Namibia restricted the Netherlands to 164/4 in 20 overs. Opener Max O'Dowd (70 off 56) starred with the bat for the Dutch with a half-century.

Match #8: Sri Lanka defeated Ireland by 70 runs
Sri Lanka scripted one of the best comebacks ever to register a thumping victory over Ireland in Abu Dhabi! Lankans were reduced to 8 for 3 and they went on to post 171/7 on the board in 20 overs. Opener Pathum Nissanka scored 61 runs off 47 deliveries. But the highlight of Sri Lanka's innings was the promotion of Wanindu Hasaranga to no. 5!
Hasaranga scored 71 runs off 47 deliveries which includes 10 fours and a six! This is also the maiden half-century for Hasaranga in this format of the game! The 128-run partnership between Nissanka and Hasaranga for the fourth wicket has been a lifesaver for Sri Lanka in this match!

During the chase, Ireland captain Andy Balbirnie (41 off 39) and Curtis Campher (24 off 28) shared a 53-run stand for the fourth wicket which is the only highlight in Irish innings! Apart from these two batters, no other Irish batter got into double-digit scores and 9 Extras was the third-highest score in their innings!
From 85/3, Ireland went on to bowl out for just 101 runs on the board! Maheesh Theekshana is once again their champion bowler with 3/17 from his 4 overs. Sri Lankan all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga bagged the Player of the Match award for his 71 off 47 and 1/12 from his 4 overs!
