Melbourne Stars had a very sad beginning to their campaign in the Big Bash League season 11 as they had conceded the biggest ever victory in the history of the tournament - lost the game on Sunday (Dec 05) to defending champions Sydney Sixers by a whopping margin of 152 runs!

However, they have now received a late boost with their premium pacer from Pakistan set to join the squad at the end of this month!
“We can’t wait to see Haris Rauf back at the Stars. His addition brings experience, energy and quality to our fast-bowling stocks. I’m sure the Stars fans will enjoy seeing him represent Team Green again in BBL 11,” said David Hussey, Melbourne Stars head coach.
Haris Rauf was exceptional since his union with the franchise in 2019. Rauf picked up 20 wickets from the 10 BBL games so far while his hat-trick in the 20th over against Sydney Thunder last season was the icing on the cake! Moreover, Stars will be more than delighted to welcome him to the setup after an awful start to their campaign.
“I am really proud to welcome Haris back to the Melbourne Stars. We are delighted that he enjoyed his previous two stints at the club and has decided to return for another season, which is a credit to the culture that David Hussey and his team have built over a number of years. He is an elite fast bowler who our members and fans adore and I can't wait to see him back at the MCG,” said Blair Crouch, Stars Manager.
The Pakistani pacer is set to play his first game this season against Brisbane Heat on 27th December at The Gabba! This is subject to quarantine protocols put in place by the tournament. He is set to remain with the squad until the end of the season.
Haris Rauf was earlier named in their limited-overs squad for the West Indies series. He will be part of the 3-match T20I series (Dec 13, 14, 16) and the 3-match ODI series (Dec 18, 20, 22) which will be hosted by the National Stadium in Karachi.
