Australian captain Pat Cummins has confirmed their playing XI for the second Ashes Test match against England which is to be played at Adelaide Oval. With Josh Hazlewood ruled out injured, Australia were forced to make a change to their XI that played at the Gabba a week ago!
Jhye Richardson who had an impressive Sheffield Shield in the first-round games has been included in the XI replacing injured Josh Hazlewood. In case you are aware, Hazlewood was ruled out of the second Test match with a mild side strain. It was a straight shoot-out between Richardson and Michael Neser for the lone available spot and Richardson comes out on top!

On the other hand, David Warner who is nursing a bruised rib injury has been included in the playing XI for the second Test match. Even though Cummins says Warner is not 100% fit for the match, he believes that the adrenaline rush would help Warner to overcome his pain!
"He'll be right. He had a bat yesterday, batted with a bit of discomfort but knowing Davey, he's not going to miss this one. Once adrenaline and everything kick in, he'll be fine. It's one thing batting in the nets but another thing when you walk out and it's a packed crowd. I don't think he had any kind of painkillers or anything yesterday," stated Pat Cummins while naming his playing XI.
Australia thrashed England by a huge margin of 9 wickets in the first Test match at Gabba and are currently leading the 5-match series by 1-0. The second Test match will be played at the Adelaide Oval beginning on Thursday (Dec 16).
