Pakistan were too good for the inexperienced West Indies line-up as the hosts registered a huge victory in the first T20I of the 3-match series in Karachi. Even though the Windies were bowled out for just 137 runs in reply to Pakistan's 200/6, it was a valiant effort from the Windies squad. With the seniors in the team, the Windies couldn't even manage 60 runs against England in the recently concluded World Cup!

Pakistan in-form batter Mohammad Rizwan once again showed his brilliance with the bat as he registered his 12th half-century in this calendar year! Rizwan's 52-ball 78 followed by Haider Ali's 39-ball 68 gave Pakistan a solid partnership of 105 runs for the third wicket. Mohammad Nawaz's unbeaten 10-ball 30* propelled the home team to the 200-run mark.
West Indies used five bowlers in this match and four of them were very expensive. Akeal Hosein with the wicket of Babar Azam registered figures of 1/19 from his 4 overs. Babar Azam registered a duck which was his 3rd in this format. Incidentally, all three ducks were registered in Pakistan.
During the chase, West Indies lost half their side with 60 runs on the board. Mohammad Wasim Jr.'s yorker to clean up West Indies captain Nicholas Pooran was definitely a highlight in the second innings! There were four 20+ scores for the visitors but none of them got going! Eventually, West Indies were bowled out for 137 conceding a 63-run victory to Pakistan in this first T20I.
Pakistan middle-order batter Haider Ali has been adjudged as the Player of the Match for his brisk knock in the first half. Pakistan are now leading the 3-match series by 1-0. The second T20I will be played at the same venue on Tuesday (Dec 14).
