KL Rahul passes fit; set to lead India in Zimbabwe ODIs

Injured Indian opener KL Rahul has completely recovered and has been passed fit for the upcoming ODI series in Zimbabwe by the BCCI medical team. He has also been appointed as the captain of the Indian side on this tour while appointing Shikhar Dhawan as his deputy. Originally, Dhawan was captain of the side but was now demoted with the return of Rahul.

"The BCCI Medical Team has assessed KL Rahul and cleared him to play in the upcoming three-match ODI series in Zimbabwe. The All-India Senior Selection Committee has appointed him the captain of the side and named Shikhar Dhawan as his deputy," stated BCCI in this media release.

India will play Zimbabwe in three ODIs on this tour starting from 18th August, all at the Harare Sports Club in Harare. The second and third ODIs will be played on the 20th and 22nd of August respectively. India are certainly entering into this 3-match ODI series as favorites while Zimbabwe are fresh from a 2-1 series victory in ODIs against Bangladesh at home.
