Having opted to bat first, New Zealand scored 215 on the board losing 5 wickets in 20 overs. Glenn Phillips top scored for the visitors with his 76 runs while Daryl Mitchell (48 off 20) and Devon Conway (42 off 34) scored 40s each to help get to this massive total!
Obed McCoy was the pick of Windies bowlers with bowling figures of 3-40 from his 4 overs! Hayden Walsh was impressive in previous games for the West Indie but he returned very expensive figures of 0-55 from his 4 overs!
West Indies, chasing 216 runs to win, managed to score 125 losing 9 wickets in 20 overs. During the run chase, Windies batters got no clue about Kiwis bowlers! Obed McCoy, no. 11, with an unbeaten 23* runs was the top scorer for the hosts in this match!
It has, in fact, been an impressive all-round performance from McCoy in this game scoring 20-odd runs and bagging 3 wickets but, unfortunately, he ended up on the losing side! Among the Kiwis spinners, both Michael Bracewell (3-15) and Mitchell Santner (3-15) bagged 3 wickets each to break the back of the home team!
